Excerpt from Changing Landscapes of Our Lives

Poetry by Norma Roth, Photography by Evelyn Bernstein

I can see the fisherman coming in
from a long day out on the cold wa-
ters lighting the small wood furnace
I see the holes in the shed for the vents
the bot belly stove tells its tale of
ages past – but there still may be
warmth left
for those willing to spend the time
to remove the rust and care to re-
place parts here and there – perhaps
by using a part from one, a part from
another – and patience to coax a fire
back.
